Tim Sampson

Tim has been practicing in the Soto Zen tradition since 1994.  He spent over 3 years as a resident at the San Francisco Zen Center, where he received the precepts (Jukai) in 1996.  He has spent time in monasteries and other practice centers in Canada, the United States, England and Japan.  In 2004, he received Shukke Tokudo (monk ordination)  at Kirigayaji in Tokyo, Japan from Junyu Koroda Roshi.  Tim is also currently the Zen Chaplain at the University of Calgary

Murray McGillivray     

Murray began Zen practice in 1974 at the age of 20. A former member of Roshi Philip Kapleau's Rochester Zen Center, he recently took lay precepts at Avatamsaka Monastery (Hsu Yun/Hsuan Hua tradition). Murray teaches English at the University of Calgary.
